Putting an end to the recent dominance of the Montreal Shamrocks, the Winnipeg Victorias came back to challenge for the Stanley Cup again, defeating the Shamrocks 2-0 in a best of three series.

The Victorias won the MHA with a record of 4-0, and subsequently defeated the Winnipeg Hockey Club in a one game playoff 4-3 to continue to keep the Cup out of reach of the Winnipeg Hockey Club.
