In what may possibly be the greatest Stanley Cup story ever told.  The 1905 Stanley Cup season began with the unbelievable challenge of the Ottawa Hockey Club by the Dawson City Nuggets.  The Yukon team made the longest trip ever for a Stanley Cup matchup by sled dog, and trains.  Traveling thousands of miles made the match extremely difficult and the Ottawa Hockey Club easily dispatched of the Nuggets, but the journey is one of the most amazing Stanley Cup tales ever told.

Ottawa followed up their decisive challenge by winning the FAHL with a record of 7-1-0.

Another close challenge by Rat Portage kept the Cup in Ottawa with a 2-1 series victory over the Thistles.
