The 1906 ECAHA season ended in a tie between Ottawa and the Wanderers who had to determine the Cup winner by playoff.  Montreal ended up winning a close 12-10 two game total-goals playoff matchup.

The Wanderers also went on to be challenged by the New Glasgow Cubs in a two game total-goals series and wound up winning 17-5.
